Rand coached the Anne Arundel Amphibians for more than two decades, helping grow its membership and programs and providing increased competitiveness in local competitions. Not limiting his efforts to his own team, he could be counted on to increase adult swimming opportunities for others by helping with the establishment of several other local swim clubs. While serving as chair of the Maryland LMSC, Rand’s expertise allowed him to oversee the administration and operation of other local clubs throughout the state. Regularly attending the annual USMS convention, Rand served on numerous committees that benefited from his long-term service and knowledge of administering local services.
