Sandi served on the Oregon LMSC Board in several key positions, including Chair, Vice Chair, Secretary, and Safety Committee Chair from the early 1980s to the present. She started attending USMS national conventions in 1985 and was meet director for the 1986 Long Course Nationals held in Oregon. She chaired the USMS Championship Committee from 1994 to 1998 and spearheaded many changes at national meets, including online registrations. Sandi has been a liaison from the Championship Committee  for more than 15 national meets and she received the USMS National Championship Meets Award in 1987 for outstanding contributions to national competitive events.
