A member of NE LMSC for 23 years, Al had served as the Chair, Treasurer, Fitness Chair, and VP of Communications. At the club level, he was on the board of New England Masters for 8 years volunteering as the VP of Communications. He contributed often to the popular and widely circulated club newsletter, NEM News, including a monthly column called “The Non-Elite Swimmer”. During Al’s time as the LMSC chair, he created the NE LMSC Hall of Fame and revamped the website and bylaws. He also helped establish an annual LMSC SCM Championship Meet at Boston University and helped grow the LMSC SCY Championship meet at Harvard U into one of the largest Masters meets in the country. Al also served on the USMS Communications Committee.
