A USMS member for over 35 years, Mark became a volunteer coach at Trotter YMCA to help sustain the adult swimming program. In 2003 he became the head coach (with financial compensation). He volunteered at the LMSC level, becoming the Treasurer in 1998, a position he held when receiving this award. An accountant by trade, his many years of service provided the Gulf LMSC with a sense of security concerning financial matters. Mark rarely missed Gulf board meetings and volunteered to help with social events, fitness swims, competitions, and other projects.
