Meredith Buchanan
Coordinator, Volunteer Services
Meredith joined the National Office in April 2026 and is responsible for developing and executing strategies that support USMS’s volunteers. She works closely with LMSCs to foster communication and share best practices. Additionally, she plays a key role in the planning and logistics of volunteer events, including USMS’s annual meeting, Relay, and various board and national meetings.
Meredith graduated from Clemson University, where she spent four years on the rowing team and was part of both ACC Championship– and NCAA Championship–winning crews. She found her passion in events when she joined the Orange Bowl Committee, a nonprofit that hosts events leading up to the Capital One Orange Bowl. She later spent four years at the University of Miami coaching rowing while also serving as the team's Director of Operations. After a short hiatus from the sports world, Meredith is excited to return and dive into the world of swimming.
Meredith resides in Boise, Idaho, where she enjoys an active outdoor lifestyle, especially anything involving the water. Her three sons are her favorite adventure buddies. When she's not outside or chasing her kids around, she can usually be found with a good book in hand.
