Richard “Hap” Gentry joined Masters Swimming in the late 1980s and contributed significantly to the Ozark LMSC. He received the inaugural Ozark LMSC Service Award in 2011, based on his many years of service to the LMSC. Serving as Registrar, Hap was instrumental in increasing the LMSC membership by 53% in his first year, bringing the total to over 300. This made Ozark eligible for an additional delegate to USMS convention. Hap has served as Registrar, Treasurer, and President of his club, St. Louis Area Masters. He coached Masters practices, hosted clinics, and managed swim meets. Hap achieved the ASCA Level 5 Masters Certification.
