U.S. Masters Swimming Dorothy Donnelly Service Award
Recipient: | Garrick Snider |
Year: | 2013 |
LMSC: | New Mexico |
Swimmer, triathlete and former diver, Garrick volunteered in many roles to serve the New Mexico Masters Swimming community. During his long tenure in the LMSC, Garrick served as Chairman, Registrar, Treasurer, and Secretary; for many years, simultaneously. He also organized numerous swim meets for the swimmers in NM. A favorite to many was the “Cinco de Mile” meet, which took place at the Walkup Aquatic Center, a beautiful facility that sits high in the mountains at 7450 ft. Garrick devised the popular Mariachi Relays, where swimmers swam while wearing sombreros, passing the hats like a baton. His dedication to the NM LMSC was appreciated by all.
