Tom coached ten workouts a week for his local Masters club. On top of that, he found time to maintain the club's accounting books, secured lane space for workouts, organized team socials, coordinated meets, and arranged the club's relays. A long-time mentor of his fellow coaches, Tom served as the Kentucky LMSC's Coaches Chair and Fitness Chair and participated as a member of the USMS Coaches Committee.
