U.S. Masters Swimming Fitness Award

Bill started adult swim lessons with his Masters team in Massachusetts. After writing the lesson manual for the program, his New England LMSC ran the program with several other masters clubs.  After a year, USMS accepted and promoted it as a national program with Bill as the lead trainer for developing instructors for the program. As a way to promote the program, he later developed the idea of April as Adult Learn to Swim month. While as a coach, he worked with his local parks commission to introduce open water swimming and worked on initiatives to promote swimming in western Massachusetts.
