Arlette joined USMS in 2009 and her contributions were quite unique, compared to many other USMS volunteers. A Physical Therapist by day, she contributed her knowledge by teaching the dryland portion of the Santa Barbara Masters Swim Camps for three years. She served as the Southern Pacific LMSC Sports Medicine Chair and wrote many fitness and injury prevention articles for the LMSC newsletter. Arlette’s ideas were put into action at the 2018 Summer Nationals in Mission Viejo with the popular foam rolling booth that she staffed with volunteers. During Covid-19 in 2000, her #FishOnLand video series helped USMS swimmers transition from swimming to land-based activities.
