U.S. Masters Swimming Dorothy Donnelly Service Award

Laura had been the Meet Director for Sierra Nevada Masters’ Donner Lake Open Water Swim since 2006. The popular event annually fills to its 300-450 competitor limit. A major fundraiser for SNM, the Donner Lake Swim has been the USMS 1-3 mile National Championship a few times, most recently in 2016. As the event director, Laura took the lead in obtaining the permits from the local regulatory agencies in Truckee, CA where the event takes place. She also organized Emergency support and arranged the catering for the volunteers and participant. Without Laura’s long term effort, the continuation of this annual event might not have been possible.
