2019 Summer Nationals Relay Information

Relay entries are available now. All relay swimmers must have entered the meet with individual events or as a relay-only swimmer by July 8, 2019.

Online relay team entry is easy to use, paperless, and available to you for unlimited edits, additions, deletions, and report printing up to the deadline for each relay event. If you have any questions while in Mission Viejo, go to the Relay Support desk near Registration.

Relays are $16 each. A credit card must be submitted when entering relays online. However, the card will not be charged until the last day of the meet, August 11. Cash or check may be presented at the athlete registration table on-site before the last day to avoid having the card on file charged. On August 11, payments for all relays entered and seeded before the last meet day will be processed using the card on file. There are no refunds for relays entered incorrectly or not swum. 

Following relay submissions and the issuance of the relay cards, no changes in the age group or seed time are allowed. Any change of swimmers after cards are distributed must therefore keep the relay in the same age group or the relay will be disqualified. Any change in the order of swimming after issuance must be identified and noted on the card prior to the swim. Swimming in any other order than that listed on the card will result in disqualification of the relay.

Relay cards may be picked up in the registration area. Relays will not be checked for mistakes and omissions made by team representatives. Disqualifications resulting from mistakes and omissions shall not be reconsidered. Accuracy and completeness are the responsibility of the coaches and/or swimmers submitting the relays.

Relay Eligibility

Each swimmer must be a registered Masters Swimming member. Each of the four members of any relay team must be registered with the same Masters club. Unattached swimmers may not swim on relay teams.

Swimmers entering relays only and no individual events must complete the individual entry form, pay the surcharge, and sign the liability release. All relay swimmers must have entered the meet by July 8, 2019.

Each competitor is permitted to swim only one freestyle relay, one medley relay, one mixed freestyle relay, and one mixed medley relay. Mixed relays shall consist of two men and two women, who may swim in any order.

Relay Age Groups

Relay age groups are 72-99, 100-119, 120-159, 160-199, etc. (40-year increments as high as necessary). The aggregate age of the four relay team member shall determine the age group. Age for the meet is determined as of December 31, 2019. Designate A, B, C, etc., if you have more than one relay in the same age group.
