Two events will be in the Minneapolis area, one in Northern California

SARASOTA, Fla — U.S. Masters Swimming is announcing three of its open water national championships for 2024.

The USMS Sprint- and Long-Distance National Championships will be held the weekend of July 20-21, both at Square Lake in Stillwater, Minnesota, which is in the Minneapolis area. The USMS Middle-Distance National Championship will be June 1 at Lake Berryessa in Northern California.

“These locations will provide an opportunity for our members in these areas to enjoy a national championship in their backyard,” USMS CEO Dawson Hughes says. “We fully believe that our event hosts will provide all participants, whether they’re traveling from across the country or are local, with a national championship–caliber experience.”

The remainder of USMS’s open water national championships for 2024 will be announced when details have been completed.

USMS has previously announced its pool national championships for 2024. The 2024 Spring National Championship will be June 20–24 at the IU Natatorium in Indianapolis, and the 2024 Summer National Championship will be Aug. 21–25 at the Marguerite Aquatic Complex in Mission Viejo, California.

USMS is also hosting five virtual championships in 2024: the 1-Hour Virtual Championship Jan. 1–31, the 5K/10K Virtual Championships May 15–Sept. 15, and the 3000/6000-Yard Virtual Championships Sept. 15–Nov. 15.
